Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) has promoted Laura Reisz to partner and Lachlan Boughton and Alicia Taylor to special counsel within its national insurance practice.

Reisz has served as defence and coverage counsel in relation to claims against directors and officers, as well as claims involving professional indemnity and construction risk. She has advised both foreign and domestic insurers on coverage and liability issues.

She has defended individual insureds and entities in litigated claims. She also has experience handling claims in the financial services and building and construction industries.

Boughton’s practice focuses on professional indemnity, marine and transport, commercial litigation, and general liability claims. He brings experience in professional negligence, general liability, property damage claims, fraud, recoveries, large-scale commercial litigation, and shareholder class actions.

His clients include those in the construction, real estate, financial services, and motor and transport industries.

Taylor focuses on litigation, dispute resolution, conduct, and compliance matters. She has handled personal injury claims, child abuse matters, regulatory and court investigations, civil wrongs, privacy, and professional indemnity. She has also tackled issues impacting non-profits, aged care, education entities, and religious institutions.

The promotions took effect on 1 January.
